Glorious weather greeted 31 Mals all eager to do battle for the Robinson Receptacle. Your President started like one of Alan Guest’s trains and your Golf Organizator was soon extremely worried about the comments of someone off 28 coming in with 50 points. I needn’t have worried. He soon reverted to type and I was able to relax.

Two notable events occurred during the day:

The Golf Organizator played off the ladies’ tee and was awarded the Champagne Moment and had to wear the President’s costume for dinner. Embarrassing for me, but Brownie points from Jan for the bottle of bubbly.

After consulting with the hierarchy, it has been decided to appoint an assistant to myself, so when for whatever reason I am unable to carry out my duties, a smooth transition will take place. We also decided to go for young blood, so a warm welcome to Alex Polhill as the Assistant Golf Organizator. Dinner was an excellent affair and 36 Mals enjoyed the evening.
